Stripes Bug[Fixed]

Postby Holali » Mon Oct 04, 2010 7:36 pm

Hello,

I have full ace demo. It worked fine, but yesterday something went wrong.
On the court appeared white and gray stripes and cannot be removed. It must be the problem of the game, all other games and programs still run fine.
Any ideas?

Thanks

P.S.: Here is the video for illustration:

That's very weird, especially if it used to work correctly and you changed nothing.
Does it happen all the time or only during replays ?
Can you think of anything that changed on your computer in between ?

It can be seen every time when the court can be seen, even in player select screen.
Maybe it has something to do with Mafia 2 that I installed yesterday.

Have a look at the file s05_court.jpg in Models/Textures to see if it's corrupted. It is supposed to show the court ground.

You should download the latest version of the demo and try it then.

So I did, but still same problem.
One more thing I forgot to say: The main menu screen is also black and white, and not yellow as it should be.

I would say you have a problem with your openGL driver, as it seems it has issues with displaying big textures. To confirm this, if you have photoshop or something like that, try opening Data/menu_principal.jpg and resize it to 512x512, then launch the game again.

Well, the menu image is fine now, but the court is still black and white in stripes.

You can do the same with s05_court.jpg (begin with 1024*1024). However, it will highly decrease the ground texture quality. The problem is with your graphics card and/or openGL drivers.

First thing: I cant open this file, its an unknown forman.
Second thing: It used to work fine, so how could my video card/opengl drivers get wrong?

1. It shouldn't be in an unknown format if you've upgraded to the latest version of the demo. It should be jpg.
2. I have no idea how your video card/openGL drivers may have gone wrong, but that's the only explanation for these facts. The only other explanation is that your video card doesn't have enough memory left to store the textures anymore. I imagine Windows fancy graphical options for the desktop, for example, may cause it.
