Computer generated results completely random ?

So I bought the game and feel satisfied with most things, apart from this issue:
In career mode I expect the top names Djokovic, Federer, Murray and so on to win and keep their top rankings, at least for some time. But only a few weeks into my first career i noticed that the top players have a hard time surviving first round in all tournaments.

It culminated in Australian Open
Week 3 Australian open: Federer, Djokovic, Murray and bunch of other top seeds out in the first round.

So I guess this mean results are completely random generated ?
To test this theory I added a lot of players that I created myself and gave them super stats. These players showed up in qualifying events for lesser known tournaments but many couldnt make it through the qualification rounds.

In a tennis simulator this is wrong. The tennis tour doesnt work this way.

This surprises me much. Results are of course not purely random-generated, and my experience shows it the other way around (i.e. top players almost never have unexpected losses). Btw the pre-computed results used when beginning a career were made using the same system.

Maybe you created the game with reduced set length, which may increase randomness (as would be the case in real life as well I think)

No I did not change set length. 6 games per set.

I even tried to edit the top players to reduce this phenomenon by giving them best possible stats. Doesnt matter.. they keep losing in early rounds.
This takes away the pleasure to start a career.

I also had a closer look at the pre-computed results used when beginning a career and a lot of surprise tournament winners.

May I ask exactly how results between cpu players are computed ?

I just checked. All of the FA4 and FA1000 tournaments were won by one of the 3 top players. All FA500 or FA250 I had a look at were won by one of the 4 top seeds.

Results are computed on a point-by-point basis using the stats of each player and the venue's parameters.

Well, good for you. Sadly thats not the case here.
Uninstalling the game.

You're not in the least bit intrigued why the game doesn't work for you as it is designed to, then ?
If the pre-computed results you see are different from those I see, then there's definitely a problem somewhere. Furthermore, there is no reason all other players would get acceptable simulated results and you wouldn't.

I mean, it's all the same for me in the end as you already bought the game, but I'd rather you enjoy it.

Sorry, what i meant was "reinstalling the game".
Going to start a new career from scratch and not mess with the database. Lets see if that works.

Oh ok... Sorry for the misunderstanding.
Let me know what happens.

Strangely enough, that seemed to do the trick. Pre-generated season sees top seeded players as winners.

So something must be wrong with that "real player" database I downloaded.
Has anyone else had the same problem ??

Pre-computed results are associated with each player's index in the database. Therefore, using a database with players ordered differently may have unexpected results.

Still that does not explain why they (with their great stats) lost som many games early in tournaments in new season.

Does that still happen when you launch a career with the original database ?

That's interesting. Can leftyright corroborate ?

I think i was playing with slow balls then.
I dont have time go through this again at the moment so I check back some other day. Perhaps kschoice can start a career with slow balls and see what happens.
