Ok, so I did some more testing anyway. Results are a bit disturbing... and shows that other parameters than stats and rank determin outcomes of matches in some settings. This needs to be fixed.
Settings: Original database, slow balls, easy, 6 games per set
Started simulating

Pre-simulated season looked ok.
Odd things started to happen in new season.

Week 1:
Kumquat 250
was won by player ranked nr 196! The top seeded player lost in first round, and so did the 2nd, 3rd and 4th seeded as well.
No seeded player made it through the quarterfinals.

Pacific 250
was won by player ranked 175! Top seeded player lost in 2nd round.
Only one seeded player reached quaterfinal (where he lost)

Chun Li 250
was won yet another unseeded player (rank 249!)
First seeded D. Kanovic lost in first round.
Only 1 seeded player reached semi-finals (where he lost)

In the minor tournaments the same pattern was showing up. Seeded players lost early, and all of them were out when semi-finals was played.
The most low-ranked player of all often won the final.

Week 2:

Dzyney 250
won by player ranked 317... all seeded players out before semi-finals

Oakcountry 250
Top 4 seeds went by first round.. and all lost their first game
285 ranked player won

Week 3:
Mulberry (Australian Open)
Players ranked 1-5 in the world could not win their first matches...

At this point I stopped simulating. We can all see where this is going.

Indeed, simulated matches currently use the same type of balls as the one chosen in settings. This will be fixed in the next version.

What does the type of balls has to do with match outcomes anyway ?

Well, different balls change many aspects of the game...

Slower balls will not turn all top rated players into amateurs. Thats simply not true.

(Highly) slower balls will make for tighter matches, with more surprises. To me, it's consistent. Anyway, I don't see the point as slow balls are in Full Ace mainly (only ?) for learning purposes.

No they won't.
Anyway, if this issue is fixed it will not be a problem.

I would also advice you to add the folowing option:
be able to play 2 or 4 games per set (as human) without cpu matches also being played this way. Then you have eliminated another possible source of trouble.

Version 5.3.2 should fix that issue.

someone should try lowering the top players' stats to an average level and tell us the results
